WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS

CareerJS’s magazine is still in a pretty early stage, but we’re trying to build a resource that’s interesting and useful. We’ve got three motives:

  • We want people to link to our site and give us that precious, precioussss SEO juice
  • We want to support people who write useful articles; especially as Pete used to rely himself on income from writing articles
  • We want to give back to the community, and this is a first step in an ambitious planned programme of that

Here’s the pitch I approached our current authors with:

I found your articles on [name source]. [Two to three sentences that show I understood and enjoyed their articles]

Anyway, I run a JavaScript-focused recruitment consultancy, and I want to start building out a library of high-quality technical JavaScript articles in order to lure people to my site / SEO reasons, etc etc. I wrote a fair number of technical articles for pay back in the day, but I'm not sure I've got the time or energy to create these all myself, and so I'm emailing people who've written content I've enjoyed to see if they'd be willing to contribute.

[Explain that I’m paying $400 per article, because nobody’s heard of this site yet]. I'm looking for articles somewhere between 1,500 to 2,500 words, aimed primarily at mid-level or senior JavaScript developers, under an exclusive license.

If you’d be interested in writing for us directly, please pretend I emailed you that, and drop me an email at WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS with some examples of your writing, and a couple of article ideas, and we’ll can see if we can agree something mutually agreeable!
