Seeking front-end guru. Angular/Vue part-time Australia remote
Mr. Miyagi vs. Yoda—who would win?
There’s nothing more inspiring than a mentor-mentee relationship. Think Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi in Karate Kid, or Luke and Yoda in Star Wars. Greatness begins with a great mentor, and that’s where you come in.
Our client is on the leading edge of data collection, capture, processing, and analysis. Located in Melbourne, Australia, they have a unique need for a contract position that is anticipated to last 12-18 months. Your role will be oversight and mentorship, coaching and supervising JS developers doing front-end work that includes form design, data collection design, coding, data cleansing, and database design. You’ll be the Mr. Miyagi to their Daniel-san, passing the benefit of your years of front-end experience to the next generation and doing it with fewer devastating high kicks.
The role is fluid and can be tailored to the right person, so for those who are looking for a way to share their knowledge without a full-time commitment, this may be the perfect opportunity. Only want to work two or three days a week? No problem. Want to work from the lounger in your backyard? Totally understandable. As long as your time zone aligns with their office locale, you can engage in Yoda-level programming calisthenics from the comfort of your garden.
Of course if you’re going to be the guru with gusto, you’ll need to have the experience to draw on. Maybe you spent your career in front-end, or maybe you’ve got your own company but find that you’ve got time (and a bank account) to fill. Whatever your situation, if you’ve got the experience and the will to mold the bright young minds at our client’s company, they’re eager to talk to you.
This role offers the unusual opportunity to build a position around your skills. Mentorship, supervision, teaching others to catch a fly with chopsticks—if these sound like your idea of a great side gig, send us your CV today!
All this being said, if you’re sat there reading this and thinking - hold up, this sounds great, but I’m a front-end dev. looking for full-time work. Not a problem! The client is equally interested in hiring full-time, front-end developers. However, full-time equals on-site in this situation, from their Melbourne offices and not from some galaxy far far away. If that sounds more like what would float your boat (or spacecraft), then we want to hear from you too!
Let's do this!
